Description: This framed collage contains a letter signed by the Mayflower II crew that was put in a bottle in June 1957 while the ship was crossing the Atlantic. The letter reads, "This document was dropped overboard in a sealed bottle from the barque MAYFLOWER II, during her maiden voyage, which was from Plymouth, England towards Plymouth, Massachusetts. The bottle was dropped overboard on the the Ninth day of the month of June Nineteen Fifty-seven, when the vessel's Noon position was Latitude 28-26 N Longitude 70-05 W." The letter was signed by all of the crewmembers and Felix, a cat who sailed with them.
The bottle was found in the Bahamas in 1965. Also included in the collage is an authentication letter signed by the people who found the bottle.
