6th Grade Choir: This vocal ensemble is a daily class that introduces students to choral singing within a fun-loving choir community! Students develop introductory skills through warm-ups, sight-reading, discussion and reflection, introduction to music theory knowledge, sight-singing, and performance. The choir performs a wide variety of music in unison to two-part harmony including classical, folk, world-music, pop, and Broadway repertoire.
7th Grade Choir: This vocal ensemble is a daily class focusing on building fundamental vocal techniques within an energetic and friendly choir community! Students will be introduced to developing healthy vocal tone, posture and breathing, and other fundamental choral skills. They will develop these skills through warm-ups, sight-reading, discussion and reflection, introductory music theory knowledge, sight-singing, and performance. The choir performs a wide variety of music in unison to three-part harmony including classical c, folk, world-music, pop, and Broadway repertoire.
8th Grade Choir: This vocal ensemble is a daily class focusing on furthering students’ individual musicianship through developing healthy vocal tone, posture and breathing, and other fundamental choral skills- all while getting to know the 8th grade choir community! Students will refine these skills in warm-ups, sight-reading, discussion and reflection, continued introductory to intermediate music theory knowledge, sight-singing, performance, and competition. The choir performs a wide variety of music in unison to three-part harmony including classical, art-song, folk, world-music, pop, and Broadway repertoire.
Concert Choir: This vocal ensemble is a daily class focusing on expanding students’ individual and ensemble musicianship through the development of healthy vocal tone, posture and breathing, and other fundamental to advanced choral skills, alongside the wonderful choir community of 9-12th grade singers! Students will refine these skills in warm-ups, sight-reading, discussion and reflection, introductory to advanced music theory knowledge, score analysis, sight-singing, other musicianship activities, performance, and competition. Concert choir performs a wide variety of music in unison to four-part harmony, including classical, art-song, folk, world-music, pop, and Broadway repertoire.
Spartans in Motion Show Choir: Spartans in Motion (SiM) is a year-long, audition based show choir made up of dedicated 9-12th grade students and meets every Sunday August-December from 6:00-7:30PM. This group focuses on building high-level performance skills, including singing, dancing, expression, and stage presence, all through learning and performing engaging popular music shows! Students will learn vocals and choreography to pop, TV, Broadway, jazz, folk, and contemporary styles of songs in unison to six-part harmony. Students perform at school events, for the community, and at competitions throughout Ohio. Auditions take place every spring for the upcoming year, see Miss Wolff during the first week of school if interested in make-up auditions!
