Earning the Male April Athlete of the Month is Track Star Hudson Warner. He competed in 4 meets during the month of April and had 5 first place, 3 second place, and 3 third place finishes. We are elated to announce April’s Female Athlete of the Month is Katie Jordan. During the month of April, she marked the following stats: .553 batting average, .656 on base percentage, 26 hits, 11 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. In addition, Katie is currently leading the MOAC in season batting average, on base percentage, and stolen bases. Katie's 24 stolen bases on the season put her at 7th in all of the OHSAA according to MaxPreps.

Country standout Caleb Cameron. At the Harding Invite, he
placed 1st on the team and 15th overall. At the MOAC, he was
2nd on the team and 12th overall. At Districts, Caleb placed 4th
overall and advanced to Regionals, where he placed 13th overall
with a time of 16.29. His success launched him to the State run,
where he clocked in as the 55th runner out of 186 athletes. This
season, Caleb earned 2nd team MOAC honors.

where she achieved 93rd out of 185 runners. Casey’s hard work
earned her 1st team MOAC.

Standing at 290 kills in the MOAC, she is currently in 2nd place, 3rd in blocks, 5th in hitting percentage, and leads the league at #1 in aces. She is currently on the prestigious Ohio's Top 50 on OHSAA's Max Preps in the ace and kills categories. She also won Marion Star's Player of the Week Competition in September gathering 67% of the votes.

Earning the Male September Athlete of the Month is football quarterback Owen Lowry. He helped lead the team to a 3-2 record in September. He completed 81 out of 139 passes for 1,153 yards (230 per game) and 10 touchdowns. He ran 58 times for 276 yards and 6 touchdowns. Altogether he was responsible for 1,429 yards and 16 touchdowns in September.

Earning the Male August Athlete of the Month is golf standout Dylan Moore. Dylan has played very well and lead the team to 2nd at the Darby Creek invitational with an 84; 1st at Bloom Carroll with 79; 2nd at leg one of the MOAC tournament with 77;
2nd at leg two of MOAC tournament with two his personal bests. Dylan also leads the team with a 39.3 scoring average. He consistently serves as a leader and pushes his team to be better.

We are elated to announce that August’s Female Athlete of the Month is Maura Murphy. She has set MOAC and Spartan records for 9 holes at 31 (-5) and 18 holes at 69 (-3). Maura has been the
medalist in every tournament, and in every match except one. She had the low score in both MOAC tournaments, as well as at the Buckeye Central Invitational, the North Union Invitational, and
the Freddie Invitational where she tied her own Pleasant record with a score of 3 under par. She has done all of this while being unbeaten as the number one girl's tennis player and excelling academically.

leading scorer for the boys track team, Nick earned high marks in
many events. He took first in the 1600 five times, first in the 3200
four times, first in the 4x800 in four events, and first in the 4x1600
in two events. In addition, he earned third in the distance medley
at the River Valley Relays and second place in the 3200 at the
North Union Invite. Kudos to Nick for his well-rounded distance
running achievements.

impressive contributions to the track team at many events earned

The Male Athlete of the Month is Wrestling phenomenon Brandon
Mulvaine. He reached the 100-win milestone this season marking
a significant triumph. At the tail end of January, Brandon won the
Sally George Invitational with a 4-0 record under the spotlight.
This was his 4th time in the Sally finals, but first time winning it
and did so in exciting fashion. Brandon had an impressive 13-5
record from January 27 to March 3. He was first at the Sally,
second MOAC, second at Sectionals. He is a 3x District qualifier
and most recently he earned State alternate status by placing fifth
at Districts.

The Male Athlete of the Month is Bowling standout Nolan Ludwig. Nolan led his team in Sectionals with a 565, marking him in the 10th place. He made his way at Districts earning second place with a 680, and 4th at the MOAC Championship with a 614. This work helped his team make a second state appearance, too. Nolan’s contributions to the bowling team this season were outstanding.

approach to team, and court achievements make her a top-notch
player. During the season, she averaged 8.8 points per game, 6.9
rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.5 steals. She earned 2nd team MOAC

contributions and team spirit this successful basketball season.
We are elated to announce that the Female Athlete of the Month is swimming standout, Jenna Hollenbaugh. Jenna cracked two school records at the MOAC Meet on January 21 earning first place in the breaststroke at 1:09.9 and second place in the 200 individual medley at 2:19.4. Jenna consistently outpaces her competitors giving her first and second place finishes throughout the season.
We are elated to announce that the Female Athlete of the Month is basketball standout, Avah Steele. She has become a force on the court with the following stats to prove her abilities:

As a sophomore on the team, Avah is adding value at a varsity level, helping the Lady Spartans achieve a winning 13-3 record in the season.

It is with great pleasure we recognize the current Pleasant Athletic Booster Volunteers of the Month, Kortney Cleveland and Justin Peterson.
Both have stepped up this school year by serving as coordinators of the youth girls and boys basketball teams. Not only did they prepare pre-season requirements such as sign-ups and schedules but they also both coach teams.
Kortney helps develop Spartan culture by posting all youth schedules and game results on social media, celebrating the good work by our young athletes.
Justin extends his assistance by providing support to the Little Dribblers program organized by the Lady Spartans basketball program.

It is with great pleasure we recognize the current Pleasant Athletic Booster Volunteers of the Month, David & Nikki Columber.
Dave and Nikki are very generous when giving of time and resources to the Pleasant Athletic Community. You can often find Dave keeping a score book during basketball competitions. Nikki fills in for team meals and concession shifts when no one has signed up.
In addition, Dave and Nikki donate various items needed by athletic programs. Lastly, Dave was an integral part in helping to launch the recent Athletes of the Month program through the Boosters.
It takes a village to be a strong athletic community and Dave and Nikki sure do their part and more! Thank you both for having a giving and engaging spirit.

It is with great pleasure we recognize the current Pleasant Athletic Booster Volunteer of the Month, Melodie Little. She has been an integral part of the wrestling program as a volunteer for a very long time.
Melodie has served as lead statistician and does video work for the program. She travels with the team and donates a significant amount of her time. Melodie is a nurturing presence for coaches and athletes and is held in very high esteem amongst the wrestlers. Whether it be athletes or coaches, she is revered and will only be known as "Mrs. Little."
Coach Joe Robinson shares, “Mrs. Little has made my life as a coach a ton easier. She makes me look a lot better than I am. Wrestling season is very long and labor intensive. She operates with a kind, caring, and generous heart. She loves the wrestling athletes as if they were her own. She is amazing.”

Meet our September Pleasant Athletic Booster Volunteer of the Month!
Mike Murphy has been very giving of his time. He announces every home football game, and he makes the playlist. He is awesome! He cues up music at just the right time and does a fantastic job of being a professional on the mic. He has announced our football kickoff night and our meet the team night. In addition, he has supported the football program in a variety of ways including raising money, cooking for the players, and helping with water sprinklers on the practice field. His son Conner was recently injured, and Mike has continued to show his support. He is a devoted member of the Pleasant Local School District and truly cares about the kids. Our Friday nights would not be the same without him. He is one caring and giving member of our community.

There are many individuals who selfishly give their resources, time, and talents to better and serve our student athletes. In August, Brenda Leikala stood out. She volunteers many days and hours taking high quality photos at Spartan sporting events. What is notable is that she captures various sports – soccer, cheerleading, volleyball, and football in addition to school events such as pep rallies. She is inclusive of freshmen, JV, and Varsity, along with kids who sing the national anthem and band performances. Photos are shared on social media for all to enjoy.
