At the end of Chapter 13, you should have mastered the following skills and be ready to test:

• Evaluate limits to infinity, as in problems 13-7, 13-8, 13-21, 13-22, 13-47 (a) and (b), 13-55, 13-63 (a), 13-104 (a), 13-119 (a), 13-131 (b), and CL 13-159.

• Evaluate limits at a point, as in problems 13-34, 13-47 (c), 13-63 (b), 13-104 (b), 13-119 (b), 13-131 (a), and CL 13-160.

• Approximate the area under a curve of a function using trapezoids, as in problems 13-61 (c), 13-73 (c), 13-90, 13-120, and CL 13-162.

• Sketch a position graph and/or a velocity graph when given a motion scenario, as in problems 13-88, 13-102, 13-117, 13-118, 13-128, 13-130, and CL 13-161.

• Determine the equation of a slope function,  f′(x) using the definition of a derivative when given the equation of an original function, as in problems 13-140, 13-143, 13-151, 13-153, 13-154, and CL 13-163.
