Mrs. Slous serves currently as music director at Pleasanton Middle School in Pleasanton, Calif. Previously, she was a band director for Hacienda La Puente Unified School District in La Puente, Calif. for over ten years. Slous was named Lassalette Teacher of the year in 2014 and awarded the Pleasanton PTA Excellence in Education Award in 2019. Under her direction, her student ensembles have regularly received Superior rankings at both SCSBOA and CMEA festivals. She holds a Masters in Music from Sam Houston State University and earned a B.M. in Music Education. In her current role, she directs six ensembles including band, strings and choir with over a dozen performances each year. Over her career, Slous has striven to teach elementary and middle school students to appreciate, understand, and excel at music.
