I was born in the Seattle area and spent over 20 years growing up in Washington state. I attended the University of Washington (GO HUSKIES!!!). I majored in Music Education, which got me two bachelors degrees (and my teaching credential), and minored in History. I moved to California after graduation, for an adventure. I immediately got my California music teaching credential, which is a K-12 credential. In 2005, I earned my masters in Music Education from CSU East Bay. I also hold a CLAD certificate.
The 2025-2026 school year is my 24th year of teaching music, and my 21st year in PUSD. I previously taught in the San Carlos and Byron school districts. I have professional experience teaching K-8 music, and taught K-5 and 9-12 music while student teaching.
When I moved to California, I was lucky enough to meet my husband. We have been married for close to 20 years. We have a 15 year old daughter who is in her second year of high school. We are a dog-loving family and currently have a 9 year old rescue mix named Luna who is the sweetest.
In my spare time you can often find me being a very supportive dance mom at rehearsals and competitions. But I also enjoy watching all Seattle sports (Huskies, Seahawks, Kraken, Mariners). I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, crafting, gardening and spending time with my family.
