After graduating from Washington High School in Fremont, Ms. Allen attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. Ms. Allen earned a Bachelors of Science Degree with Cum Laude Honors and was an eight time Dean's List recipient. She also became a member of the Golden Key International Honor’s Society for being in the top 15% of her college. Ms. Allen then completed her Teaching Credential program at Cal Poly.
Besides teaching, Ms. Allen’s other major passion is dance. She has been dancing since the age of 2 ½ years old. She later began competing at the age of 7 years old in all styles including: tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, pointe, and contemporary. She also had the opportunity to dance with the Oakland Ballet Company where she performed in the famous annual Nutcracker. Her passion continued through college as she became a member of the Cal Poly Dance Team for four years. During her last year at Cal Poly, while completing the credential program, she became a member of Orchesis Dance Company. To continue her passion after college Ms. Allen teaches competitive dance at a studio in San Ramon, Ca.
Ms. Allen’s other hobbies besides dancing and teaching include: baking, walking her dog Cooper, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Allen is extremely excited to begin her 12th year at Amador Valley High School where she hopes to spread her passion and love for Mathematics to all of her students!
