About me

 Hello!!! 

My name is Alex Herman. I am very excited to continue teaching here at Pleasanton Middle School! I am a Pleasanton native where I went to school at Donlon Elementary, Hart Middle, and Foothill High School. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher since the young age of 8. I worked so hard and tried my best to get where I am today. 

I graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies. After I graduated, I taught pre-school for a year and a half at The Quarry Lane School. I then started my credential program through an online program called CalStateTEACH. 

I was offered my first teaching position at Pleasanton Middle School teaching 6th grade block in 2017. I absolutely LOVED it, and I am excited to continue my career teaching 6th graders! 

I have a large family that is close-knit, and we love hanging out together! I am a "mommy" to a Toy Poodle, whose name is Moose, and a spicy kitty, Maisie. 

In my free time, I am a cheer coach for Foothill High School. I was a cheerleader when I was young, and I missed it, so I decided to take that next step to coach young athletes in this wonderful and challenging sport. 

I am so excited to start my 9th year teaching at Pleasanton Middle School. 

To my students: Stay true to yourself, try your best, and reach out if you need help or simply just want to chat.  Communication is always key for success. PLEASE (I am begging you) remember that I am on your team and you should never hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or feedback. Can't wait to get to know each of you!
