Parents who are planning to register their children for Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or grades 1 through 5 at Donlon Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year are invited to drop off their enrollment applications and associated paperwork at the Donlon Office.
**PLEASE DROP ALL COMPLETED ENROLLMENT PACKETS IN THE LOCKED BROWN MAILBOX OUTSIDE THE FRONT OFFICE**

Parents of current PUSD TK students DO NOT need to complete the online enrollment. TK students who will be attending Donlon for Kindergarten next year will automatically be transferred to us.
Enrollments received after February 28th are received on a first-come, first-serve basis. If Donlon does not have space remaining in that particular grade level, the student will be overflowed (placed) at one of our other PUSD schools.
Registration for our before and after school program must be submitted separately to Donlon Kids Club. Click here for their website.

PUSD's Dual Immersion Program is an Alternate Program for English Learners (EL) and English Only (EO) students to acquire academic proficiency in two languages. PUSD’s Dual Language Immersion program is English & Spanish, together with mastery of academic Common Core State Standards and cultural proficiency for all participating students.
El Programa de Inmersión Dual de PUSD es un Programa Alternativo para Estudiantes de Inglés (EL) y Estudiantes de Inglés Solamente (EO) para adquirir competencia académica en dos idiomas. El programa de inmersión en dos idiomas del PUSD es inglés y español, junto con el dominio de los estándares estatales básicos comunes académicos y la competencia cultural para todos los estudiantes participantes.

Not Feeling Well?
Since we are entering cold & flu season, take steps to keep our community healthy.
Should your student develop cold or flu symptoms, make sure to test TWICE for Covid. Free Covid test kits are available in all school offices. If the first test is negative, test again 24-48 hours later (even if symptoms are resolving and your student returns to school after the first negative test). Low amounts of virus early in infection can sometimes be missed by a test, and the test can be positive a few days later.
Stay home when not feeling well. There are a lot of viruses going around, and you don’t want to spread them, even if they are not Covid-related.
Wear a mask if you have any symptoms while around others.

YOUR CHILD'S ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Here are some things that parents and guardians can do to help children come to school every day:
• Set a regular bed time and morning routine.
• Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
Avoid letting your child stay home unless he or she is truly sick. Sometimes complaints of a stomachache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
• Talk to teachers, school counselors or other parents for advice on how to alleviate a child’s anxiety about going to school or other issues.
• Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor or another parent.
• Avoid scheduling medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
