The Donlon PTA is excited to announce Read-A-Thon will be taking place in conjunction with Read Across America week, Feb. 28- Mar. 4, 2022. We will be raising funds for teacher and specialist classroom libraries.
Students are encouraged to read and collect online donations from family and friends. ALL the reading during the day counts, including- reading during the school day, reading homework, reading after school on your own, being read to, or listening to audio books. Students will have a log sheet at home and at school.
February 21: Registration begins for the Read-a-thon. Register your child to be eligible for daily raffle prizes. To register and begin collecting donations, go to www.pledgestar.com/donlon
Register on Pledgestar to log your reading minutes starting 02/28/2022! Students can earn fun prizes just for registering on Pledgestar!
The first class who reaches 100% signups on Pledgestar will earn a class basket full of literacy goodies!
Feb. 28 - March 4: Track your child’s reading minutes for the week. Feel free to print the attached reading log out to make it easy to keep track of minutes! Enter reading minutes in PledgeStar. Daily raffle prizes will be drawn. Additionally, every student will receive a new book to add to their home libraries from the PTA
March 5 - March 7: Finish collecting donations! And make sure all of your child’s reading minutes are logged in PledgeStar to compete for class and individual prizes.

Parents who are planning to register their children for Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or grades 1 through 5 at Donlon Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year are invited to drop off their enrollment applications and associated paperwork starting MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th.
**PLEASE DROP ALL COMPLETED ENROLLMENT PACKETS IN THE BROWN MAILBOX OUTSIDE THE FRONT OFFICE**

Parents of current PUSD TK students DO NOT need to complete the online enrollment. TK students who will be attending Donlon for Kindergarten next year will automatically be transferred to us.
Monday, February 28th is the deadline for completed enrollment packages to be received and verified in order to be included in a lottery should one be necessary at our Donlon school site.
Enrollments received after February 28th are received on a first-come, first-serve basis. If Donlon does not have space remaining in that particular grade level, the student will be overflowed (placed) at one of our other PUSD schools.
Registration for our before and after school program must be submitted separately to Donlon Kids Club. Click here for their website.
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY DROPPED OFF THEIR ENROLLMENT PACKETS:
Expect to receive a confirmation email within 2 weeks after the enrollment package is dropped off.
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN
Confirmation email will contain a google form for school site preferences, as Donlon does not have TK at our location.
A notification email of site placement will be sent out in April.
KINDERGARTEN
An email containing a Kinder questionnaire & welcome video will be sent out in mid-March.
Kinder visits are scheduled for April 20th from 12:30-1:00pm (for students whose last names begin with A thru M) and April 21st from 2:00-2:30pm (for students whose last names begin with N thru Z).

PARENTS / GUARDIANS OF CURRENT KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS:
ALL children entering first grade are required to have a Health Exam completed by their doctor. The exam can be dated up to 6 months before starting Kindergarten, and no more than 90 days after entering first grade. Students who will be in first grade during the upcoming 2022-23 school year who have gotten their medical exam but have not yet turned in the Health Exam form, please return the completed form to jtompkins@pleasantonusd.net, or drop it off at the Donlon office.
The due date for submitting the Health Exam for next year's first graders is by November 11, 2022. Click here for a copy of the Health Exam form.
