Pick up procedures
*All families, walking or driving, should have a large paper (printer paper is fine) with their child's first and last name, their teacher's name (not room number), and their grade. This should be in the front passenger windshield so we can see from front of car, or carried if you are walking/biking.
Walking/biking families drop off:
Come to the front of school (on Dorman) and say goodbye to your child at the start of the walkway that goes from Dorman to our front gates. All of our kindergarten, first, and second graders did a great job of walking down the path and right to their teacher (in line or in the classroom).
Driving drop off:
It is best if your child is able to open the car door for themselves and climb out (if you have a child lock, please disengage it). It is also better for your child to come out on the curb side of the car, NOT the traffic lane side. Please pull all of the way to the front of the drop off lane, or as far forward as there is space and when the cars in front of you stop, you may let your child exit the car too (they don't have to be in front of the gate to exit).
Walking/rolling pick up:
If you plan to get the free lunch for your child, please walk around the parking (NOT through the lot) using the sidewalk on Dorman, then the pathway at the south end of our parking lot (by the painted yellow curb) to walk to the walk-up lunch line. Get your child's lunch, then return the same way. It's only 548 steps round trip (we checked!). If you walk from the back of our school, get your child's lunch, then walk along the pathway to the sidewalk on Dorman, and line up in the walking pick-up zone on the other side of the parking lot. We will not send children to meet walking parents at the lunch pick up area.
We will have the small front parking lot empty tomorrow so our walking families can line up according to their child's teacher - you will see cones with signs that have the teacher's name on it. Kinder line up will be closest to the fence, then first grade, and so on. Please maintain your 6 feet of distance for safety. We plan to call several children from the same classroom to speed up the walking lines.
Driving pick up:
The center drive (through our parking lot) is for families who do NOT want the free lunch for their child. The curb lane is for families who want the free lunch for their child (or, families who do not want the free lunch may use this lane and simply pull forward and exit without lunch). There is a sign in front of the lunch tent with the food choices, please have your child's order ready as you arrive.
Again, if you have other caregivers, PLEASE share this information with them so they know our procedures.
Thank you for keeping all of our students and staff safe, and thank you for your patience as we learn these new procedures!
If your child is a hybrid student returning to campus and you did not receive an email health screener from Qualtrics, please review the above document to ensure that your child is safe to come to campus. Also, if you did not receive the email from Qualtrics, you should enter your child's information into this form to be shared with our student services department.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
We have been preparing and are excited to have the kids back on campus as soon as we get the green light.
If you have a student who will have medication at school, please make sure that we have the correct Medication Consent form for the current school year. This applies to Prescribed and Over the Counter medication. Please make sure that all of these guidelines have been met before bringing medication in:
Students name must be on the box or bottle (keep label attached for prescription meds)
Medication must match exactly to what the doctor’s orders say
Consent form must be signed and stamped by the doctor, and signed by the parent/guardian
For links to all of our medical forms click here.
Please call Jamie Tompkins between the hours of 8:30-1:30 M-F if you have any questions. You may also email jtompkins@pleasantonusd.net.
The counselors at Hart Middle School have created an Incoming 6th Grade Google Form for all Donlon 5th grade parents and students to complete with their choices for classes next year. Since we are unable to send paper forms as was past practice, we are asking you to please complete and submit this Scheduling Form for all current 5th graders who are slotted to attend Hart next year. We appreciate your assistance in getting this important information submitted. The Hart Counseling Staff will be available via email for any scheduling assistance and questions that parents and students may have with the process.
Warm regards,
Hart Counseling Staff
