Hello from our Donlon School Counselor!

Hi! My name is Lisa Doherty and I am the school counselor at Donlon Elementary School. A school counselor is another resource or support person who can help your child succeed. I work closely with classroom teachers to connect with those students who may benefit from my services. I also do whole classroom presentations on character traits, social emotional learning topics, as well as grade level lessons as outlined by the Pleasanton Unified School District Master Counseling Plan. Please let your child's teacher know if you think your child needs extra support.

Please be sure to check out my Website where I will post new information, resources, and ideas that you can use at home with your student(s). My work days are Mondays, Wednesday mornings, and Thursdays. The best way to connect with me is email. I look forward to working with you. Email ldoherty@pleasantonusd.net

PPIE (Pleasanton Partners in Education) has worked with our district counselors on a new video feature: 'Ask a Counselor Series' . Click below for the video and additional information about the topic.

The School Site Council is an advisory body made up of equal number of members from the parent community and the school staff. Together, we review student learning data, determine areas of growth and need, and advise a plan for spending discretionary site funds based on this data. Council membership is determined by vote and members serve a two-year term. Bylaws for the council, minutes of our meetings, and the School Plan for Student Achievement (our plan for the school) are posted on our Donlon website (page linked here). Each meeting's agenda is posted on this website, and in the school office at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting. Zoom link for the meeting is on the agenda, all are welcome to attend.

Friday, December 11th is a virtual Flag Salute, and it's one of our favorite themes... Pajama Day! That's right - it's a day when you can do all of your school work in the comfort of your pajamas!
