If you have already moved, are moving, or will possibly be moving before the start of the 2020/2021 school year, please let us know by filling out the google form linked below.
With all of our grades at or near capacity, such information in advance is vital to our planning process.
It has been noted that with the improvement in the weather, some Donlon students have not been maintaining social distancing. Please remember that every interaction with others outside of those living in your home should be at least 6 - 8 feet apart and that masks should be worn if in public areas. If we violate the social distancing mandates, we risk other's health and extending the length of time we are under shelter-in-place orders.
Congratulations to our virtual racers! Originally, we hoped to race 7,750 miles around the continental USA. No sweat! Then, you raced so well that we expanded to Alaska and Hawaii. Well, you did that in about 3 days! And now, after 19 days of running, walking, dancing, yoga-ing and what-not, you’ve passed 27,000 miles. Wow! You’re amazing! We hope this has been a fun activity for your entire family and provided a nice distraction while we shelter in place. The virtual race ended yesterday, but please know you can still log workouts that occurred any time between April 1 - 19, if you haven't done so already. The virtual race website will remain open for donations through April 30 - please share your fundraising page with friends and family if you’d like. Thank you for joining! Now for some info on what we did and what’s next!
Miles - We traveled 27,463 miles - over 3 times what we planned. Next year, let’s circle the world!
Fundraising - When combined with funding from our original Run, we raised over $100,000 from our runners and sponsors. Thank you all! Please visit the race website to see our sponsors.
What’s Next - Our plan is to host a fun Back-to-School event in August where we will hand our medals and race shirts, issue Race awards, and have fun! We will follow County Health guidelines for the event and will certainly keep you posted throughout the summer.
Awards - We have lots of recognitions:
Highest school participation - please see the chart below that shows highest % participation for all our schools. Congratulations Donlon, Pleasanton Middle and Amador Valley for top honors! We will issue fun awards in August.
Team and other awards - congratulations to The Little Light Team, Gore Family, Shey Lorton and Corona Indoor Nationals and many others for their great work!
Photos - It’s not too late! PLEASE EITHER POST YOUR PHOTOS TO SCRAPBOOK (in Charity Footprints) OR EMAIL THEM DIRECTLY TO MAIL@PPIE.ORG We’ll issue fun awards in August!
Next Year - Our plan next year is to resume the in-person Run on April 18 AND do a Virtual Race so we can involve the broader community.
Thanks again for your great support. We hope your family is staying healthy and happy in place!
