UPCOMING FREE WEBINAR ON SEP. 11TH FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS
The Alan Hu Foundation is hosting a free webinar for PUSD parents/guardians on September 11th from 6:30-7:30pm about "The Role of Emotion Regulation in Human Resilience". Dr. Mauss will address how adverse life events and circumstances commonly diminish psychological health and well-being, sometimes leading to immense pain and suffering. People’s ability to manage (“regulate”) negative emotions is thought to be a pivotal resilience factor. She will present research on one particularly promising type of emotion regulation: reappraisal (reframing how one thinks about emotional events), as well as a complementary strategy: Emotional acceptance (accepting one’s emotions without judgment). The presentation will be followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Register here for Zoom link.

WANT TO HELP A STUDENT IN NEED?
AVHS counseling is accepting donations from the AVHS community to help support students whose families don't have the means to purchase a yearbook (Senior students only) or pay for a dance ticket for their child. We don't want students missing out on these special memories because of a financial need. Donate here.
