Students may need credit recovery when they do not pass courses during the regular school year. Credit recovery is for students who have earned a D or F in a course required for graduation or college eligibility.
PUSD offers two types credit recovery programs.
The High School Referral (HSR) program at Mt. SAC is a free, online, self-paced, credit recovery option. HSR allows high school students the opportunity to retake classes to earn a higher grade and make up credits by taking A-G approved courses.
Mt. SAC instructors supervise the classroom and provide individual instruction and support. Students must be currently enrolled in high school and have parent and counselor consent to participate. The HSR program offers three sessions per year including summer school.
Limitations for transcript articulation should be discussed with your assigned counselor if a student would like to take more than 10 credits (2 semester courses) through a high school provider outside of PUSD. More details about PUSD’s outside course policies are available HERE.
