Meet your Teachers

Meet Mrs. Adams

Hello! My name is Sara Adams and I am a Title 1 Teacher at Pleasant Hill Primary School. I graduated from Murray State University in 2011 with my Bachelor's degree in elementary education and learning and behavior disorders. I began teaching in 2011 as a special education teacher at a K-8 school in Louisville, Kentucky. I mostly taught small reading groups to students in grades 2-4. During that time I received my Master's degree as a reading specialist from Bellarmine University. I then moved to Murray, Kentucky and began teaching as a special education teacher in Calloway County at the middle and high schools. I taught there for 4 years before taking some time off to raise our two boys.

On a more personal note, my husband, Stephen, and I met in Murray, KY and got married in June of 2016. We have two boys, Brayden (5) and Bodie (3). Stephen was a college football coach at Samford University in Birmingham, AL before deciding to change careers and move back home to Pleasant Hill. We have been living in Pleasant Hill since February of 2022. We also have a cat named Lui.

In my spare time, I love to cook, read, shop, and hang out with friends and family. Our boys keep us busy so we spend a lot of time outside and keeping them occupied.

A few of my favorite things:

Candy: chocolate (Snickers and Twix)

Restaurant: Mexican

Store: Target and Amazon

Drink: Coffee or Dr. Pepper

Snacks: Cheddar and Sour Cream chips

Color: Blue

Birthday: April 22

meet Mrs. Roach

I am Kathy Roach and I retired as the Title 1 Reading Specialist in May of 2022. I am very excited to return this fall as one of the part-time reading teachers. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  I earned my National Board Certification in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Literacy with Reading Specialist Certification in 2010 at University of Central Missouri. When we moved to Pleasant Hill in 1999, I taught 5th grade for six years, 2nd grade for two years, and kindergarten for eleven years, before teaching Title 1 Reading.

Kyle and I have been married for 37 years and have called Pleasant Hill our home for the past 23 years. Our sons are grown and we love making plans to spend time with them. Nathan and his wife, Lia, live near Green Bay, Wisconsin, Aaron lives near Springfield and Trenten lives in Overland Park. In my free time, Kyle and I enjoy traveling in our travel trailer, hiking, biking, and attending Trenten’s basketball and football games as he coaches in Drexel, (close enough for us to follow his teams). I love to read, cook, walk, and hang out with family and friends!
