Packaging provides the following benefits to the goods to be exported: Physical Protection – Packaging protects against shock, vibration, temperature, moisture, and dust. Containment or agglomeration – Packaging provides the agglomeration of small objects into one package for the reason of efficiency and cost factor.

palets

A flat transport structure, which stably supports goods while being lifted by a forklift, a pallet jack, a front loader, a jacking device, or an erect crane. A pallet is the structural foundation of a unit load, which allows handling and storage efficiencies. Goods or shipping containers are often placed on a pallet secured with strapping, stretch wrap or shrink wrap and shipped. Since its invention in the twentieth century, its use has dramatically supplanted older forms of crating like the wooden box and the wooden barrel, as it works well with modern packagings like corrugated boxes and intermodal containers commonly used for bulk shipping. EURO PALET

Measurements: length 800 mm, width 1200 mm. Materials: 11 wooden boards, 9 dowels, 78 nails. Approximate weight: 25 kg. Moving safe working load: 1500 kg. Static Load: When stacking loaded pallets on a solid, even surface, the lowest pallet must not exceed a load of more than 5,500 kg.

AMERICAN PALET

Measurements: length 1000 mm, width 1200 mm. Approximate weight: 25 kg. Moving safe working load: 1500 kg. Static Load: Do not exceed 6000kg on a smooth solid safe surface.

WOOD PALLET

Wooden pallet:

Wood composite pallets are the most in-demand, reaching a market share of 90 to 95%.

Advantages:

These are competitively priced pallets in relation to their strength, reliability and ability to be repaired, which lengthens their life cycle. In their favor can also be highlighted their ease of recycling.

Disadvantages:

Damage to the pallet structure if the wood is heavily beaten or difficulty in cleaning and disinfection.

Wood pallets of any size are subject to ISPM 15 (ISPM 15), which governs how wood packaging material, including pallets, must be treated in international trade. ISPM 15 requires that pallets be manufactured from debarked wood and, in addition, that they undergo phytosanitary treatment to prevent the presence and proliferation of wood-related pests. Pallets that comply with this standard are labeled accordingly. Source: ar-racking

PLASTIC PALLET

Plastic pallet:

This is an option that is gradually gaining ground over wooden pallets.

Advantages:

Easier to clean and disinfect than wooden pallets. They are lighter because they weigh less and have an even greater durability compared to wooden pallets because the blows cause less impact on the pallet. They are also 100% recyclable.

 Disadvantages:

They are more sensitive to deformation under excessive loads and are more expensive than wood pallets. In addition, it is important to know exactly what material they are made of because, depending on the type of plastic, strength and durability will vary significantly.

On the other hand, if the pallet suffers any substantial damage, the part must be replaced beyond repair.

metal PALLET

Metal pallet:

The most resistant and also the heaviest, usually made of steel or aluminum. Mostly used in the metallurgical sector.

 Advantages:

Easy to clean and disinfect and, in addition, metal pallets have a long service life due to their solidity and strength against impacts. They also support very heavy loads.

 Disadvantages:

They are heavier than pallets made of other materials, which increases the cost of transportation.

cardboard PALLET

Cardboard pallet:

 Mainly intended for light loads.

Advantages:

They are disposable and recyclable, economical and easy to handle as a result of their light weight. They are also characterized by their low weight. They are the cheapest pallet types.

Disadvantages:

Extra-limited life cycle since they only have a single use.

The Full pallet can be up to 2.2m high and weigh a maximum of 1,000kg (including the pallet); The Light pallet can be up to 2.2m high and weigh a maximum of 750kg (including the pallet); The Half pallet can be up to 1.1m high and weigh a maximum of 500kg (including the pallet).
