Hi! My name is Caroline Gaines and I live in Chicago, Illinois with my parents, my older sister, Maddie, and my dog, Bailey. I am a sophomore at the Latin School of Chicago where I have been a varsity starter since freshman year. I am extremely excited to pursue field hockey at the collegiate level while getting an amazing education!
Athletically, I am looking for a supportive environment that includes an intensity to compete and push each other to be the best we can be. I love to be challenged by my teammates and coaches so I can continue to learn and grow to my full potential. I have high goals for field hockey and would love to play for a conference championship and an NCAA Title.
Academically, school has always been extremely important to me and I work very hard to excel. I would love to attend a school with high academics, strong programs, and a student body who create a fun and supportive atmosphere.
My Family
My older sister Maddie is a freshman at Denison this year playing Field Hockey!
This is my dog Bailey!
I ♥️ Chicago!
I am the head of the club Romans Embracing Generations! We partner with the assisted living home within our community where we connect and bring joy to those living there!
I also work with a club at our school called Best Buddies where a school of children with disabilities come to our art room and we hang out with them to draw, sing, dance, and have fun!
I played soccer up until eighth grade at a high level called ECNL traveling every weekend with my teammates whom I could also call my best friends. Soccer has taught me dedication, resilience, commitment, hard work, and how to compete which I always carry throughout my play in field hockey, school, and life. I always thought I would play soccer in college until I discovered field hockey. Playing both at once in eighth grade running from one practice to the next, I chose field hockey and am so glad I did!
Traveling has allowed me to experience so many different cultures and learn about different countries. I love exploring new places!
Skiing with my family has been a tradition every year and the part of the year I look forward to most!
Art has always been a passion of mine in school. I love taking different art electives and was especially proud of this piece based off of Micky Mouse and using the artist style Jean-Michel Basquiat.
