About the 21st Century Program

—————————————————

The 21st Century Community Learning Center is a federally funded program supported by the New Jersey Department of Education for out-of-school-time programs in New Jersey.

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is intended to:

  1. assist students to meet the challenging state academic standards by providing them with academic enrichment;

  2. offer a broad array of activities during non-school hours or periods when school is not in session (such as before and after school or during summer recess)

  3. offer families of students served by the centers the opportunity for active and meaningful engagement in their children's education

The 21st Century Program, in conjunction with the Plainfield Public School District, has developed and continues to sponsor the Queen's TV Network.

Under the supervision of Ms. Zelda Spence, Plainfield's 21st Century Program has organized teams to develop this website, to livestream Plainfield Varsity sports starting in Winter/Spring 2021, and to develop a journalism workshop to allow students to learn skills and techniques with video, audio, and written reporting of events in our community.
