Book award program to promote self-selected reading for K-8 children

The Indiana Library Federation supports three annual book award programs. The book award programs seek to foster self-selected reading by engaging students and adults in the selection, promotion and recognition of honored books.
Battle of the Books
The Battle of the Books is a 4th and 5th grade competition with all Plainfield Community Elementary Schools. The winning team from each PCSC Elementary will battle again for the PCSC Battle of the Books Winner. The final battle is on Friday, December 13th.

2024-2025 Essay Contest is now open!
An essay contest is held every year to allow students to express themselves and win great prizes.
There are four topics to choose from, so students can find the subject that fits them best.
The contest is open to students in GRADES 5-12, AGES 10-18. The deadline to submit is 11:59PM Eastern on Friday, March 21, 2025. Students may submit their essays directly, or have them submitted by a teacher or parent.
Winners will be announced on May 30, 2025. Good Luck!
