Collaboration Spaces

Guilford Elementary was built with the intent to provide students with spaces that encourage and promote collaboration. The most expansive collaboration space is our Discovery Center located in the heart of Guilford. The Discovery Center has various areas for students to work together including the speaking stairs, green screen room, and puzzle tables with flexible seating. Each grade level is grouped together in what we call communities. Every community has a collaboration space where students from all grade level classrooms work on STEM challenges and other projects. Inside the classroom, student desks are shaped like triangles to promote groupwork and communication. Every classroom also has flexible seating options. On the outside of Guilford Elementary, we have an amphitheater where students or guest speakers present.
