An Elementary Newspaper Club

📰 Description: The P.K. Current is a student-run elementary newspaper that empowers students to write, interview, and create content that reflects the P.K. Yonge community. Through authentic tasks like reporting, photography, and publishing, students build literacy, communication, and digital media skills. Our newspaper club supports our school’s vision of an active and thoughtful community by encouraging collaboration, leadership, and project-based learning. Like an ocean current, our members will create waves at P.K.!

🌊Club Membership Requirements: Members are expected to show responsibility, collaboration, and a commitment to contributing during meetings and completing tasks such as writing, interviewing, or photography. Students should be willing to meet deadlines, participate actively, and respect others’ ideas. Prior experience in writing or media is not required; however, students should demonstrate an interest in learning, growing, and improving their skills. All members play an important role in representing and sharing the voices of our school community!
