Welcome to fifth grade! This is my 20th year teaching and 13th year teaching fifth grade! I taught sixth grade at Jana Elementary in Hazelwood before coming to Wren Hollow where I have taught both fourth and fifth grade. This year, we will focus on becoming more responsible and independent in order to prepare for middle school. I believe that every student is able to learn and accomplish anything. As a classroom team, we will work hard and have an exciting year!
Educational Background:
The best part of teaching at Wren Hollow is that I went to school here from Kindergarten all the way through fifth grade. I even decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I was here at this very school! I especially loved being in fifth grade because I learned so much and met so many new friends.
I graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in middle school math. I completed my master’s degree in educational technology at Webster University in 2008, became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2014, and recertified in 2023.
Family:
I am married to a wonderful man named Sean Prudence. We have an 10 year old son named Scott, 8 year old daughter named Reagan, 6 year old daughter named Morgan, 3 hermit crabs, and a 2.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Bertschy. We had SO much fun this summer together!! We went to the pool A LOT and many other fun St. Louis attractions like the Zoo, Busch Stadium, and Grant's Farm. We traveled to one of our favorite spots, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina too!
Hobbies:
I enjoy running, reading, photography, and dancing. I have lived in St. Louis my whole life, so I am a huge Cardinals fan and like to go to as many games as I can each season. I was at the World Series Game in 2006 and 2011 when we became National Champions! I also love the Blues and was very excited to have the opportunity to photograph the Stanley Cup in 2019! My kids are heavily involved in soccer, so we love to watch St. Louis City SC too.
