In 2023 The Department responded to over 500 alarms. These alarms include, but are not limited to structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, animal rescues, electrical hazards, and gas emergencies. Furthermore our members continue to actively train on flood water emergencies and are always ready to respond when called upon. 

The Port Jefferson Fire Department is always accepting new membership with applications available at the firehouse. If you are over the age of 18 and live in the Villages of Port Jefferson or Belle Terre, you are eligible to become a member. In addition, the Department sponsors a Junior Fire Company that is made up of local high school students ages 14 and older which is also always accepting new members. 

We are excited and proud to be celebrating our 137th anniversary this year. 137 consecutive years of our Port Jefferson and Belle Terre residents volunteering their time, energy, knowledge, and bravery to the community. Please consider making a donation to further support our efforts in providing the highest level of service to the community.

1: Mail or drop off a check to the firehouse located at 115 Maple Place, Port Jefferson.  The check can be made out to “Port Jefferson Fire Department”

2: PayPal: Use the email address funddrive@pjfd.org to find our profile. Our profile name is “Port Jefferson Fire Department Inc” 

3: Venmo: Search Port Jefferson Fire Dept or @portjefffd. Be sure to click on the “Businesses” tab. 

4: Zelle: Search Port Jefferson Fire Department or funddrive@pjfd.org to add as a contact.
