NCC Activities

Prabhu jagatbandhu College NCC unit, 41/5 Coy [Army Wing] under 41 Bengal BN NCC, Kol- C Gp Hq, West Bengal & Sikkim Dte is running in our college since 1964 with its motto ‘Unity and Descipline. Presently it is running under the active leadership of Major Palash Kumar Patra [Coy Commander], commissioned on 31^st Oct. 2005.

The unit has total 160 cadet strength (SD/SW) including a platoon of girls cadet. Cadets actively participate in various training activities, adventure activities, social service and development programs during the course. This promotes national awareness by motivating the cadets to join the Armed forces and the experience is also valuable in giving the cadets a rich choice of careers in several fields. The unit carrying out a high order discipline to maintain its glory and in result our cadets won a number of medals and honors [including Governors medals & Best cadets awards] for their performance in different areas. A good number of cadets passed ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate every year with excellent grading and started their career in Armed forces, para Military/ Police Forces and in other fields.

Role of our cadets in COVID-19 Pandemic:

Cadets actively participated in online Pre-Deployment Covid-19 training capsule (for deployment of cadets with Police and local authorities if needed) provided by DG NCC for Ex. NCC Yogdan. Unit organize a mass Awareness campaigns to awareing people about covid appropriate behavior. Our NCC unit also organized a State Level Webinar on ‘Challenges And Relief Measures In The Days Of Pandemic: The Role of NCC & NSS’ on 08/08/2020. They also conducted the Mask and Sanitizer distribution programme in different times. Beside that cadets of our college planted a hundreds of trees in different places on World Environmental Day. Observation of the International Day Of Yoga, Fit India campaigns, Celebration of Republic Day, Independence Day, Vijay Diwas and NCC Day celebration also be conducted by our cadets. Cadets render there duties in covid vaccinations programme in our college and help civil administration in vaccination programme.
