Cheating Policy:
I take cheating very seriously. If caught cheating you will receive an automatic “0” on the assignment or test/quiz. You will also receive an after school detention with myself. Assume that you should do your own work unless I tell you different. Helping each other on projects (lab work) is often warranted.
Attendance:
Attendance is very important. With the block schedule, missing one class is like missing two classes. Do your best to be present and on time every day. In the case you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what material you missed and make arrangements with myself to make-up that material. If you have a scheduled absence, you need to complete an advance make-up slip before leaving. This should be done at least two days before your planned absence. Assignments for planned absences should be turned in before you leave. This includes school trips, athletics, club activities, practices, etc. If you are tardy you need to get a pass from the office or teacher before entering my classroom or you will be assumed unexcused. After two unexcused absences you will receive an after school detention with myself.
Late Assignments:
If an assignment is not turned in on the due date, the student will have two school days to complete the late assignment form (student handbook) for the option to turn the assignment in for any possible credit. After three days late the assignment will become a “0”. Assignment due dates will be adjusted for excused absences.
Expectations:
1.) Punctuality- Be on time and present. Every second you are late you are waiting my time and your fellow classmates time.
2.) Respect- Treat fellow classmates, supplies, and machinery the way you expect to be treated.
3.) Participation- Come to class every day ready to work and participate. Participation is 20% of your grade.
4.) Preparation- Bring all material you need to class. Proper clothing, materials, assignments, writing utensil, PLANNER, etc.
5.) Safety- Safety rules MUST be followed at all times. Not following rules will result in removal from the lab area.
6.) Clean Up- Keeping the shop organized and clean is the responsibility of every student. All clean-up duties must be completed before anyone is dismissed. Not cleaning up will result in loss of points from your weekly participation grade. Clean-up will begin everyday at 5 minutes before the end of the period.
