I do not know where the time went. It feels like yesterday I was saying goodbye to my students and packing up my classroom. Now, we are ready to go again! So I would like to formally welcome you back to school. As a parent myself I know how challenging getting back into a schedule can be. Please help your students over the next few weeks by reminding them to write down homework assignments and to come to class prepared. The rest of the responsibility is theirs.

This is going to be a very busy year and I believe that when students know what is expected of them they have no problem rising to the challenge. Your students are definitely going to be challenged as we tackle our lessons and work on mastering our math skills. Our Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice "describe varieties of expertise that mathematics educators at all levels should seek to develop in their students." It is my goal to develop these eight mathematical practices in your student.

#7. Look for and make use of structure.
