Our 5th Graders have been doing an unbelievable job at community outreach with our HUSKY HOPE CLOSET and a class recipe project. Their care and compassion of wanting to provide food access and hygiene supplies to our community is commendable. The health office would like to share information on their initiatives as food and hygiene access are cornerstones to a healthy self.
HUSKY HOPE CLOSET:
The Husky Hope Closet has been created to supply toiletry essentials to our students and their families who may be in need of extra assistance. If you need soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes for your child or family, please reach out and I can take your student to go shopping at the Hope Closet to get the supplies you need
Grade 5 Recipes:
Our 5th graders have searched for recipes that utilize common food staples that are available from food pantries in wake of SNAP benefits being affected this year. They've gathered recipes from magazines, family recipes, and are working their best to find hearty meals with food that is readily available from our local food pantries. We will post their recipes to this page soon. Food access is a major factor in one's health.
