Meet Carter Loch, a 16-year-old junior attending D. H. Conley High School. Growing up in Greenville, NC, Carter is the youngest of two girls. Her fondest memories include watching her sister play soccer, a sport she now plays herself.
“Soccer was my first love.”
In her free time, Carter enjoys baking, playing sports, and volunteering at her church. She aspires to work in healthcare in the future, being inspired by her own journey with physical therapy, she wants to help those who may have similar experiences.
”Growing up I’ve always had hip problems which is why I want to do something health-related.”
Building on her love of sports and creativity, Carter joined yearbook because she wanted to try something new. Already fond of taking pictures and writing captions, she felt it would be fun. Seeing as soccer has played a big part in her life, she’s now excited to see how photographing the sport would go.
“I feel like since the ball is always moving, it’d be fun to take pictures of it,”
Her positive outlook also guides her interactions with others. Carter's favorite quote is “You never know what someone’s going through,” a quote often said by those with a kind heart.
"Everybody goes through something different so you should be nice to everybody."
In Carter's eyes, there’s always an option between doing something nice for someone and being mean, and she feels you should always be nice, as you aren’t aware of the battles someone might already be facing.
