Special Note: If you do not already have Snapchat, you may want to download that app and create an account there first. That way, when you download Bitmoji and create your avatar, you can take advantage of Friendmojis! More on that in a bit...

Step 1: Install Bitmoji App

You will need to download Bitmoji app on your phone or mobile device to get started. If you have a Snapchat account, sign in with that, otherwise you can create an account with your email.

Some teachers will create two accounts, one with their personal email and one with their school email. That is completely up to you.

Step 2: Creating Your Avatar

After you have installed the Bitmoji app on your mobile device, it's time to have some fun creating your avatar. Your Bitmoji avatar is the cute little mini-you that will be in all those fun images. The video below will walk you through the process of making your Bitmoji avatar.

Step 3: Using Bitmoji on Your Phone

Once you have ceated your Bitmoji avatar, it's time to start having fun with it! You can send fun Bitmojis in text messages on your phone and in your Snapchat messages if you have an account. You will have to allow the Bitmoji keyboard on your phone first, though. The video below will walk you through enabling the Bitmoji keyboard, and then show you how to access the keyboard for using Bitmojis in text and in other apps.

Step 4: Downloading & Using the Bitmoji Chrome Extension

The link above will take you to the Chrome Webstore page where you can install the Bitmoji Chrome Extension on your Chrome browser. This extension syncs instantly with your Bitmoji mobile app, so as soon as you make any changes to your avatar, they'll be available on your computer. The extension makes adding your Bitmoji to Google Docs, Gmail, and other applications so easy. Take a look at the video below to see how to use the Bitmoji Chrome extension.

Ready to move on?

Take some time to practice adding your Bitmoji to texts, emails, and Google Docs. Once you've gotten the hang of it, consider moving on to the next steps of editing your Bitmojis with Google Drawings, creating Bitmoji scenes, or exploring ways teachers are utilizing Bitmojis in their classrooms.
