My most commonly asked question is:
"How do you say your name?"
Peo: pronounced peh-oh or pay-oh
They say pee-oh up north! Ew.
I love teaching!
I have enjoyed music my entire life and I want others to have the opportunity to experience the same joy that I have had when making music.
I was born in Durham, NC and lived in Butner until 2nd grade. My family moved to Greenville and then to Winterville.
I attended W.H. Robinson in 3rd grade and A.G. Cox when it was grades 4 - 8. I graduated from D.H. Conley and earned my Music Education degree at UNC-Greensboro. I lived briefly in Burlington and taught in Mebane, NC before moving to Germany with my husband Ron. He sang at the opera in Bremen for 8 years and then we moved to Nuremberg until 2001. In July 2001 Ron and I moved to Greenville and later back to my childhood home in Winterville.
Talk about full circle! Things in Pitt County have changed a lot since the 1970's.
