I am a 21-year-old enthusiastic and well-driven individual who values her education and work. My skills and strengths include writing, public speaking, leadership, collaboration, classroom management, problem solving, organizational skills, and critical thinking. Throughout my time at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown I have worked diligently in my classes while also receiving my ESL certification. I find my education of worthy and value, hence why I believe it's crucial to meet the goals you desire and take those extra steps needed to succeed and grow. The three writing pieces that I present in this document prove my ability to understand and critically analyze different forms of English and writing. This makes me a candidate for many different schools and a role model for future principals and administration who view my work. However, these pieces of work signify a clear and cohesive insight of mastery of material and information learned in my field.
My argumentative essay demonstrates my ability to present a well-written piece of work with scholarly material present. This proves my document to be evidence-based along with showing my skills through an appropriate and efficient standpoint. The annotated bibliography exemplifies my research skills and the ways in which I can apply my knowledge from academic articles, books, journals, etc. to other given material I find. Lastly, my review symbolizes my techniques on evaluating student behavior, achievements, and work ethic. This also illustrates how I am able to communicate where students need to improve in their education and work. With these given points being stated, all three of these documents I have created prove my ability to be a valuable, sophisticated, and intelligent future educator.
Alongside my work, achievements and skills, I am currently employed at The Learning Lamp and work with children of all ages. I enjoy working with children and being their guide whenever it leads to their academics and success. I've worked for this service company since my sophomore year at Pitt-Johnstown and have grown to know many children alongside their parents and families. Getting to work with children and having these experiences and different learning opportunities has helped me flourish as an individual and future teacher. Some examples of these experiences have been taking children on numerous amounts of field trips, creating activities and lessons, and tutoring them in numerous subjects.
As an education major, it is crucial that I receive hands-on work and gain the practices that will help me in my near future. This job has led me to fully grasping and reflecting on current aspects in my life that can help me form new ideas for this profession. I can apply the new knowledge that I have learned through this company to my future job alongside my everyday life. I'm drawn towards other teachers that I am able to look up to and gain ideas from to help me become the best version of myself possible. I value my focus towards my future and dedicate a significant amount of time towards becoming an aspiring professional educator. However, I value hard work, fairness and equality, responsibility, honesty, leadership skills, and respect in my field.
