Intro to Urban Studies
With TA Emilia
With TA Emilia
This series offers a look into just how "common" urban studies can be in conversation! Anyone that talks about their neighborhood and changes being made to it is engaging in urban studies! Challenge yourself to see both the positives and negatives of how Dean portrays these neighborhoods! Bias rears it's head often in our content, especially in ethnographic work that deals with telling the stories of communities.
There is mention of the New Granada Theater in the Hill District Video. Click the title above to view the comprehensive plan for the renovation of this theater which will become Pitt's new Hill District Community Engagement Center. I encourage you to volunteer at Pitt's CEC's in either the Hill, Homewood, or Hazelwood neighborhood.
