Welcome back students and parents! I am so excited to be working with your students again this year. This is my 4th year as a Middle school Counselor at Schimelpfenig and I absolutely love my job.

I have been an educator for twenty-seven years. I have taught 2nd and 3rd grade and have been an Elementary counselor for fourteen years. This is my fourth year as a secondary counselor and I am looking forward in getting to know your children. It is my goal this year to encourage and support our students in setting personal and academic goals so that they can be successful in school.

My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University with a special endorsement in Learning Disabilities. A Masters of Education from Texas Women’s University in Counseling.

I am married and have three daughters, all of which have already graduated from college and are working!

Along with my passion for counseling, I enjoy jogging, reading and spending time with my family.

I am a graduate of Plano Senior High School, UTD, and Texas A&M-Commerce. In 2006, I returned to Schimelpfenig which I attended for one year in 8th grade. Before entering school counseling, I coached varsity high school tennis at FM Marcus and Rowlett HS along with teaching government and economics. Schimelpfenig is a tremendous school that focuses on the students emotional well being and academic achievement. We strive to create a learning environment for all students to gain skills to further their education. The counselors at SMS move up grades with the students. This allows us a great opportunity to better know the students and the parents.
