Shepard 3rd Grade - Meet the Teachers

I grew up 3 blocks outside of Chicago in a Southwest suburb called Evergreen Park. I am the oldest of 4 kids and the oldest of 15 grandkids, so I've been taking care of little ones my entire life. I've been married to Mr. Ferenschuetz (a teacher at Plano West) for 15 years. We moved to Texas in 2004 and I've been teaching 3rd grade at Shepard ever since...It's the best grade and I'm not going anywhere! My son, Julian, started 1st Grade at Tibbals Elementary this year, and I've started looking at school from a parent's perspective more and more. I am so excited for this school year!

I am a born and raised Texas girl and a PISD graduate. Plano Planoooo, East East! ;) I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and got my degree from the University of North Texas. This is my 6th year teaching and I absolutely love it! I taught second grade for one year, and then was given the exciting opportunity to move to third! 3rd Grade is truly the best and I am so lucky to still be teaching it. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 4.5 years and we have a rescue fur baby named Baylee. Mr. Marquez graduated from TCU (so we are a die hard horned frog household!!) and is the head band director at Richardson High School. We love watching college football and planning for our new home we are currently building in Allen! I am so excited for this year!

I have taught at Shepard for 10 years and this is my seventh year in 3rd grade! I grew up in Memphis, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee. I moved to Dallas right out of college with Mr. East. We have 2 grown children, Amy and Jared, that live in Austin and Houston and our empty nest consists of 1 deaf cat named Whisky. It is going to be a great year!

Hello! This is my 4th year at Shepard and my 4th year in 3rd grade! I love this grade and can honestly say we have the best team! I grew up in a small town in west Texas called Dimmitt. Ever since I was in Kindergarten, I knew I wanted to be a teacher! I went to college at Texas Tech and met my husband there. We have been married for two years and loving every minute of it! We have 2 fur babies. Our cat is Rocket and our dog is Roxy! I continued at Tech and got my masters in School Counseling. So, eventually, I will move into that position but for now I am loving every second being in the classroom! I am so excited for this year!
