Plano RDSPD has a diverse population of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Some students use sign language for communication. Some students use listening and speaking to communicate. Some students use both!

Read Play Learn will be providing tools to increase language in diverse ways. Speech is more than just speaking clearly. A huge part of speech is empowering students to develop their language.

Every month, we’ll have a new book.

Each week, Ms. Olabode will provide new language tools that you all can use at home with your Deaf or Hard of Hearing child. Through our Facebook page (@Plano_RDSPD), you will be provided with pictures, signs, and or questions to help spark conversations and to peak your interest. The last week of the month, we will provide interested RDSPD families with the book and manipulatives in a kit so you can practice at home! Everything will be accessible to you and your child through captions, sign language, and voice. We hope to create a fun, familiar environment for you to learn!
