AP Testing
AP Registration opens August 26, 2026
AP Registration opens August 26, 2026
Any student in an AP class or plans to take an AP test should create a college board account. More information below.
AP Test Registration has begun! AP exams registrations that are not fully paid by March 5, 2027 will be canceled and exams will not be ordered.
For classes that begin 2nd semester your deadline to register and pay is March 5, 2027.
2nd semester classes - Please plan to register and pay by February 26th to avoid late fees or issues with registration.
$40 cancellation fee applies after March 5, 2027
All students who are in an AP class and/or plan on taking an AP test must create a college board account.
https://myap.collegeboard.org/login
It is required for students to use their PISD school emails for their account.
IF you already have a college board account is it REQUIRED for you to make sure you update your email to a PISD email if it is not already.
You also need to remove your phone number if you added it to your account.
DO NOT put in your phone number.
SENIORS - Please make sure you update your email address to a personal email AFTER your AP exams and BEFORE the end of the school year. You will want to make sure you still have access to your account after you graduate.
Make sure you register using your FULL name. No nicknames or shortened versions. (Example: John B.) You must type out your name in full to avoid test registration issues.
PLEASE NOTE - Joining your teachers AP Classroom section does NOT automatically register you for an AP Exam. There are 2 important steps that must be completed in order to be registered. Please see the information in the box below.
You MUST memorize your log in information. Make sure to choose a password you can remember. If you cannot log in to your account on test day you will not be able to test and you will not be rescheduled. You cannot have it written down anywhere on test day, it has to be memorized. Please practice logging in to your account through Bluebook leading up to test day to make sure you do not have any problems.
If you are a new students to Plano East you will need to update the school on your College Board account. Whether you are new to the district or came from McMillen/Williams updating your school to Plano East will ensure you do not encounter any registration problems. This will also ensure you receive your scores after the completion of AP testing.
If you encounter any issues trying to log in or access your account you will need to call College Board customer service to help you. Your teachers and Test Coordinator cannot help you access your account due to personal information security issues. The College Board customer service number is 866-630-9305.
Registering for SEMESTER 2 courses and exams will occur during semester 2. If you are in a course that does not begin until January, you will not register for that AP exam until you are sitting in that course. There is a seperate deadline for second semester only courses. Registration for these exams will not be open until January and choosing a fall exam registration will cause issues for your exam ordering.
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Plano East Senior High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2027 AP exams, students at Plano East Senior High School will be registering online. Online Exam registration will begin on Tue, Aug 25, 2026 at 12:14 PM and end on Fri, Mar 5, 2027 at 11:59 PM. The AP exam registration process is two steps, but both can be completed in one sitting when the student and parent/guardian do this together. Even if you do not plan to take the AP exam, you need to complete both steps to access the College Board’s AP resources. Both steps must be completed in order to have AP exams ordered:
Step 1: Go to totalregistration.net/AP/445569 and sign in with your Total Registration account. If you have not used this site before, you will need to create an account.
It is important that you do not create multiple accounts. This causes issues with registration between College Board and Total Registration.
Please make sure you put the same first and last name as is on your College Board account and double check you enter your Student ID number correctly.
When creating the account, please use your school email address. I will be sending reminders and communications through Total Registration about testing information, and it will go to the email address you used to register. Sometimes personal email addresses get blocked, or it goes to junk mail.
If you already have an account, you were sent an email on the morning of 8/25 to the email they have on file with the website as a reminder.
If you cannot remember and don't see an email, you can ask me and I can look up which email you used.
If you no longer have access to that email, I can update the email address on your account. I cannot update passwords or access your account.
If you have siblings on campus, they must have a separate account. You cannot use the same account to register for multiple students' AP exams.
It is recommended that you complete the AP Registration and payment process with a parent present so you can register and pay all at one time.
If you qualify for free/reduced lunch please make sure to check that box during registration.
Checking this box does not guarantee you will receive a reduced rate. You must have already been approved by the school for free/reduced lunch and it has to be verified before it is applied to your AP exam fees.
If you want to apply for free/reduced lunch at East you can visit www.schoolcafe.com/pisd to complete the application. More information can be found at https://www.pisd.edu/departments-66/food-and-nutritional-services/mealprogram
If you check this box you will not be able to pay immediately after registration, you will have to wait until your free/reduced status has been confirmed or denied.
Once a decision has been made you will receive an email to the address on file. You will then be able to log in and pay for your exams.
If you are an IB student and plan on taking IB exams this year. Make sure to check off any and all IB exams you will be taking. This will automatically identify potential scheduling conflicts. If I am not made aware of these conflicts, your exam will not be rescheduled.
Once you have registered for your AP exam(s) , you will receive a confirmation screen which includes the Join Codes for the AP Classroom Sections that correlate to the exams you just registered for. I would suggest taking a screenshot of this confirmation page for your records. You should also receive an email with this confirmation page to the address on file. Please see Step 2.
Step 2 : Log in to your AP Classroom account. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one. Do not create multiple accounts. Use your school email address for all College Board accounts.
If you have not already joined your teachers' AP Classroom sections, you need to do that. You can do this by getting the join code from your AP teachers OR by using he join codes provided during AP Exam Registration in the Total Registration confirmation screen (as seen in the last part of step 1).
If you chose to take an "exam-only" exam, as in you are not in the course but you would like to take the AP exam. This is not affiliated with a teachers class and you should not be in a teachers AP Classroom section. Instead you were provided with a join code for an "exam only" AP Classroom section. You need to join this section in order for your AP Exam to be ordered.
If there is an exam you want to take as exam-only but see that it is not currently offered. Please email the CTC - Avery.bustetter@pisd.edu
DO NOT join a random teachers AP Classroom section. You should only be in your teacher's section that aligns with your class schedule or an exam only section. 2nd semester only courses have a separate registration window, and you will register for those in the Spring. (Example - Economics, Government, and Physics C E&M)
This year each AP exam costs $103.00. Plano East Senior High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams.

ATTENTION! Students and guardians should complete this registration/enrollment together. This is a two-step process and both steps MUST be completed to access the AP Classroom resources and/or order AP Exams. The entire process (both steps) can be completed in a single sitting in approximately 10 minutes.
Complete the registration process that starts below.
Enroll all your AP courses and exams in the College Board's MyAP system with the Join Codes you will receive at the end of this registration process.
Students taking AP courses/exams at Plano East Senior High School must enroll/register. There is no cost for enrolling in AP courses, but the 2027 AP Exams cost $103 per exam.
A confirmation page indicates that the first step has been completed. The confirmation page will include the information needed to complete the second step of enrolling courses/exams in the College Board's system, MyAP.CollegeBoard.org. This step should be completed right away as exams will not be ordered if both steps are not completed.
Plano East Senior High School is excited to offer families the ability to pay their exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration.
