We have officially reached the final week of the school year! Whether we were mastering the complexities of AP Calculus or navigating the logical landscapes of Statistics, it has been an incredible journey. I am so proud of the resilience, curiosity, and brilliance our learners have shown from day one.
This week, the atmosphere shifts from rigorous testing to celebration and reflection. We will focus on wrapping up final projects and looking back at how much we’ve grown as analytical thinkers.
Please take note of the adjusted hours for our final days together:
Monday: Regular school day.
Tuesday – Friday (Early Release):
9:05 AM – 12:05 PM: Grade level time and final Project Presentations.
12:05 PM – 1:05 PM: Lunch.
1:05 PM: Dismissal.
For our graduating seniors, please remember your mandatory rehearsal:
When: Friday, May 22nd
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: RFAC
As the school year closes, ask your learner about their favorite "mathematical moment." Was it finally understanding a difficult derivative, or realizing how statistics can be used to spot a trend in the real world? It’s a great time to celebrate the "aha!" moments that made the year special.
Sanskrit (Devanagari):
काव्यशास्त्रविनोदेन कालो गच्छति धीमताम् ।
व्यसनेन च मूर्खाणां निद्रया कलहेन वा ॥
Transliteration:
Kāvyasāstravinodena kālo gacchati dhīmatām |
Vyasanena ca mūrkhāṇāṃ nidrayā kalahena vā ||
Translation:
"The time of wise people is spent in the enjoyment of literature and science (learning). In contrast, the time of the unwise is spent in unproductive habits, sleep, or quarrel."
Application for our Learners:
As you head into the summer and your next chapters, remember that a "wise" mind is one that stays engaged and curious. You have spent this year sharpening your intellect through the "science" of math. Continue to seek out knowledge and spend your time in ways that help you grow. Your education is a lifelong journey—carry this spark of curiosity with you!
It is a true privilege to guide your learners as they navigate their final chapters of high school. Thank you for trusting me to help them sharpen the logic and resilience they’ll carry into the world. If you ever have thoughts or feedback to share, my inbox is always open at devipriya.jain@pisd.edu.
Here’s to a week of connecting the dots and finding the 'why' behind the math! ✨
Being a small part of your child’s story and learning journey is a privilege I truly treasure!
