We had a wonderful, educational field trip to the PISD Holifield Science Learning Center...aka the Outdoor Learning Center! 

1st graders explored 3 areas to find the best place for Carly the Caterpillar to make her home - the animal room, the butterfly house and the nature trails. They worked with their groups to the best place for Carly based on food available, water, shelter and what predators might try to get her!
