Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others. Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Responsibility.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and Plano ISD is taking this opportunity to help students build the skills they need to create safe, kind, and inclusive school communities.
Throughout October, students will explore the importance of kindness, empathy, respect, inclusion, and being an upstander when they see someone being treated unfairly.
Families Play an Important Role:
Parents and caregivers can reinforce these conversations at home by asking questions such as:
What does bullying look like?
What would you do if you saw someone being bullied?
Who could you talk to if you or a friend were experiencing bullying?
How can you help someone feel included?
What can you do to make your school or community a kinder place?
Please encourage your child to talk with a trusted adult if they experience or witness bullying. Remind them that speaking up is an important part of helping create a safe environment for everyone.
Together, we can help every student feel safe, supported, respected, and included.

Hi!
Welcome to the Counselor's Corner! This is my 1st year at Harrington but my 21st year in education, and 18th year in Plano ISD. I have two kids, a 5th grade daughter and 2nd grade son. I love being outside, watching my husband play golf, reading and watching my kids play sports. I am so excited to work with the Harrington family this year! If you have an questions or would like any additional resources, please reach out!
