My main instrument is trumpet!
In 2013, I joined the faculty at Plano West Senior High School to teach with 6 sections of AP Music Theory. Since then, I have taught AP Music Theory to over a thousand students and thoroughly enjoy my position.
Prior to coming to Plano West, I was a faculty member at the University of North Texas, where I taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Jazz Arranging. I was also the director of the Meadows Jazz Orchestra at Southern Methodist University where I taught courses in Jazz Improvisation and Jazz Pedagogy.
I have a Master of Music degree in jazz arranging from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia.
For College Board, I made a number of AP Review videos for the College Board's YouTube Channel.
Here are some examples.
AP Daily Live Review 2022: Episode 5 Part Writing: An Aural Approach
AP Daily Live Review 2021: Episode 5 Harmonic Dictation
AP Daily Live Review 2021: Episode 2 MCQ - Aural
AP Daily Live Review 2021: Episode 3 MCQ - Non-Aural
AP Daily Live Review 2022: Episode 6 Part Writing Secondary Leading Tone Chords
I also made 25 lesson videos College Board's AP Classroom. (Sorry, you can't see these until you're enrolled in the class.)

Also, I am an AP Workshop Consultant and lead AP Summer Institutes and One Day Workshops for AP Music Theory teachers. I have been a part of the AP Reading since 2015 in various capacities and have gained experience grading every free response question. From 2019-2024, I was a member of the Test Development Committee..
