1st Qatar Preparatory Schools Debate League (Boys)
Last Saturday, November 30, 2024, our school proudly emerged as the Rank 1 of the 1st Qatar Preparatory Schools Debate League (Boys) held at Al Sailiyah Preparatory School for Boys. Competing against 20 institutions, our debaters showcased exceptional critical thinking, eloquence, and teamwork that secured us the top spot. The team was composed of Zerabruk Asfaw Melis, Rhyss Adrian R. Isip, Aedan Sean F. Quitalig, Arvy Emmanuel G. Aujero, and Marcus Johm A. Francia, and Earl Dwyne V. Cardenas all of whom brought their unique strengths to the debate table. Their hard work and dedication, guided by our outstanding coaches Ms. Wenna Mae Alo and Ms. Lady Kim Jacobo, and, have brought great pride to our institution.
Adding to this achievement, three of our students ranked among the Top 10 Speakers of the tournament. Aedan Sean F. Quitalig and Rhyss Adrian R. Isip were tied at 9th place, while Zerabruk Asfaw Melis secured the prestigious Top 1 Speaker award for his unparalleled performance throughout the league. These accolades reflect not only their skill but also their commitment to excellence in the art of debate.
The 1st Qatar Preparatory Schools Debate League (Girls), held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Sawda Bint Zamaa Preparatory School for Girls, was a resounding success, showcasing the exceptional talent and skill of young debaters across the country. The tournament saw the enthusiastic participation of 62 debate teams from 40 institutions, making it a highly competitive and prestigious event under Qatar Debate. Our school's debate team delivered an outstanding performance, securing 2nd place overall out of 40 participating schoolsβa remarkable achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our talented students.Β
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our debaters, namely Berenice R. Basco, Danielle G. Castro, Godβs Favour O. Esegine, Fionna Mathea C. Marzan, Sophia Rae D. Jamantoc, and Rehanna Juh D. Hadji Ali, for their exceptional efforts. Special recognition goes to Danielle G. Castro and Sophia Rae D. Jamantoc, who were ranked among the Top 5 speakers in the Top 10 Speakers Award in Cycle 1. Their individual excellence and eloquence contributed significantly to the teamβs success. We also express our gratitude and commendation to our dedicated coaches, Ms. Mauren Jane Catalla and Ms. May Anngelina Morales, for their invaluable guidance and mentorship. This triumph underscores the remarkable potential of our debaters and reaffirms our commitment to fostering excellence in academic and extracurricular pursuits.
