The 2024-2025 school calendar is attached below.
Third quarter report cards went home on Wednesday, March 13th. Please sign and return as soon as possible.
There is no school for students on Thursday, March 14th or Friday, March 15th.
March 29 to April 5th is Spring Break. There will not be school on these days.
March 21st - We would love to see you participate in the next PEAK meeting at the K-3 campus at 6:00 p.m. The next couple meeting dates will be March 21st and April 25th.
March 28th - Students can pay $1 to wear blue. Funds are going to help support NC Children’s Home. Students are required to wear jean pants or uniform bottoms on fundraiser dress down days. Jeans may not have holes or tears (regardless of patches or leggings underneath. Uniform shoes must be worn.
March 28th - K-8 Yearbook order forms were sent home. The cost to order a yearbook is $30. The deadline for ordering a yearbook is by Thursday, March 28th. Cash or check should be attached to the order form. Make checks payable to David Grose Photography. A digital copy of the order form is included below. Yearbooks can be ordered online at: https://davidgrosephotography.shootproof.com Please include the name of the homeroom teacher in the comments section when checking out. Sales tax will be added to all online orders.

We are asking for individuals or groups to help us by adopting one member of our senior class and preparing a basket of their favorite things. See flyer for details.

Every Friday will be School Spirit Day. Students may wear PCA spirit wear tops (athletic eagle logo) with uniform bottoms on Fridays. Please note: Norris Merchandise is selling some PCA items with hoods - these items are NOT approved spirit wear. Per the dress code, students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time.
Cell phones and all other personal electronic devices (including but not limited to smartwatches, MP3 players, personal computers/laptops, video games, tablets, etc.) are NOT allowed at school during the school day. Any personal electronic device found during the day will be confiscated. Refer to the school website for the entire technology policy.
Dress Code Reminder: Make sure students are following the school dress code. Please remember that students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time. March 5th and 6th - 4-12 Spring Pictures are scheduled for both individuals and clubs. Club photos will be taken on March 5th. Individual and sports photos will be taken on March 6th. Make-ups are scheduled for March 7th.

Student Letters of Intent for the 2024-2025 school year have been sent home. Please sign and return these as soon as possible. A digital copy is attached below.
January 5th - Report cards and i-Ready testing data was sent home on Friday January 15th. Please sign and return this as soon as possible.
January 19 - February 8th - We will begin selling the candy grams starting next Thursday, January 18 and continue selling them each Tuesday and Thursday until Thursday, February 8. To purchase, students can stop by Mrs. Tyler’s room (225) or Mrs. Rash's room (105) each morning between 7:45am and 8:00 am OR Mrs. Tyler’s room (225) during lunch time. Please see the flyer for more information.

January 22 - 26th - We will be celebrating national school choice week. School choice is the process of allowing every family to choose the K-12 educational options that best fit their children. Thank you for choosing PCA.
January 24th - The third annual PCA school spelling bee for grades 3-8 will take place on Wednesday, January 24, at 9:00 on the grade 4-12 campus in the downstairs media center. The finalist spelling bee is open for parents/guardians to attend. The winner will advance to the Carolina Panthers Charter School Zoom bee on February 7.

January 13th - PEAK is taking it BACK TO THE 80's and hosting an 80's themed 4th-5th grade dance on Friday, January 12th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the K-3 campus gymnasium and an 80's themed Middle School dance on Saturday, January 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the K-3 campus gymnasium.
The entry fee is $5 per student. We will be having an 80's themed Best Dressed Contest, a 360 degree Photo Booth for $5/each video (students will need to bring a cell phone to utilize this for their video), and an 80's themed still Photo Booth for $5/each picture (provided by Bree Kinmon Photography). We will have a special guest DJ Chuck Martin from Crunk Muzic Entertainment.

A letter about the homecoming parade was sent home on November 16th a digital copy is attached below.
As a reminder, students are not permitted to bring blankets or stuffed animals to school. If your child typically gets cold throughout the day, please send a school approved sweater or jacket (without a hood) for them to wear.

November 21st - 6/7th grade will be going on a field trip on November 21st. We are going to the Charlotte Motor Speedway and UNC-Charlotte campus. The buses will be leaving shortly after 8:00 am. Please make sure your student is arriving on time this day. Students will need to be picked up on the Elementary Side of Campus at 3:45 pm. (Near the band room) A detailed email was sent home earlier this week with information about the field trip.

Starting October 2nd - Peak is collecting donations for trunk or treat and spooky treat walk. A collection bin is located at the elementary side at drop-off and pickup. See the attached flyer.

We strongly encourage your student to get a good night rest the day before and a good breakfast the morning of.
October 27th - Fall Festival will be hosted by PEAK. It will run from 5 pm - 8 pm at the k-3 campus.

October 3-4th - Middle/High School Fall Picture Days are scheduled for October 3rd and 4th. 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade will take their pictures on October 3rd. 8th-grade will take their pictures on October 4th. A flyer is attached below. Make up pictures will be on October 5th from 7:30-9 am.
October 9-13th - The scholastic book fair is coming to the upper campus. More information will be provided closer to the date.
October 16th and 17th - There is no school for students.

September - The character trait for the month of September is integrity. Students watched a video from T.K. Coleman on Friday, September 8th about this core value, and the consistent application of honesty.
September 15th - Progress reports and i-Ready diagnostic reports were sent home today. Please sign the progress report and return as soon as possible. The i-Ready reports are yours to keep.
September 18th - Visitors and Volunteers may begin coming into the classroom on Monday, September 18th. Volunteers must have a recent background check on file.

August 21st - Band and Chorus rehearsals began on Monday, August 21. The weekly schedule is as follows: Monday - Percussion rehearsal, Tuesday - Beginner band, Wednesday - Chorus, Thursday - Band rehearsal (for those with 1+ years of band experience) Friday - individual lessons. Sign up for lessons with Mrs. Owens.
Sign-ups for the Band and Chorus are still in progress. Any 6-12 grade student who wants to participate should complete the attached form and turn it in to Mrs. Owens.
August 23rd through 28th - Middle School will take the i-Ready reading and math diagnostic test starting on August 23rd. This diagnostic is an adaptive assessment to find a student's level of understanding.
August 30 - The two week uniform policy grace period ends on August 30th.
