What We Are Learning 4/13-4/17

Math

We will continue Unit 5: Numbers to 11-100. Students will be learning to make teen numbers by combining a group of 10 and some extras. Students will be using pictures, 10-frames, and number bonds to show numbers 11 – 19 as a group and some extras.

Letterland/Skills

This week students will be introduced to the sound /oe/ with the ‘o_e’ spelling (as in rose and note) and the sound /ue/ with the ‘u_e’ spelling (as in cute and cube). We will refer to the letter ‘e’ in these spellings as a “magic e”. We will have a “Magic E” Word Decoding Test on Monday, April 20th. We will continue to read and answer comprehension questions from our “Zack and Ann” reader.

Listening and Learning

We will continue Domain 10: Colonial Towns and Townspeople. This week students will continue to review and learn about the tradespeople in colonial towns. Please use the information that has been sent home to help your child review. Our Domain 10 Assessment will be on Friday, April 17th.
