media happenings
The library is in the interdisciplinary rotation for students in grades 3-5. You will come with your class in the morning on the same day each week! For the remainder of the day, the media center will be open on a flexible schedule to collaborate with teachers on projects, help students research and work with students who come with a teacher's pass and a purpose. Our space will be a safe place of discovery, fun and learning.
In support of our school's mission, the Media Center exists to help each student excel and achieve their maximum potential by creating a 21st Century learning environment, fostering a love of reading, and promoting the effective use of information and communications technology.
Often students will want to check out a challenging book. I encourage all students to be reading at home and involving their parents. If there is ever a book that is not a good fit just send it back in for a new one.
Goals of the Media Center:
The PCA Media Program will:
- Promote a safe atmosphere that encourages creativity, creation, teamwork and learning.
- Strive to prepare students to be confident lifelong readers and learners
- Strive for excellence in all that we do, as we all work together
- Prepare students to be ethical creators and users of all forms of information
