Week of May 20-24
Letterland:
This week we will review skills that have been taught. We will also continue to read and answer comprehension questions from our “Scott” reader.
Sight Words:
We have completed sight words for the year. If your child has not yet mastered their Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, or Golf Ball words, please continue to work on them. They will be assessed on them again before the end of the school year.
Listening & Learning:
We will continue to learn about Presidents & American Symbols. This week students will learn about Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. We will take our Presidents Test on Thursday, May 23rd.
Upcoming Dates and Events:
May 24th- Kindergarten End-of-Year Program 9:00am in the K-3 Gym
Our Kindergarten classes will be having an End-of-Year Program on the morning of Friday, May 24th. Please plan to arrive in the gym between 8:30am-8:45am. Our program will begin at 9:00am, followed by light refreshments. The program should be finished by approximately 10:30am. This will be a half day of school and students may leave at the end of the program. We hope you will be able to join us!
May 24th- Last Day—Early Release @11:30am
Over the summer, we strongly encourage you to set aside some time for your child to work on skills to ensure continued progress. You will find lots of helpful information and activities in the summer packet that has been sent home.
R.E.D Folders
All R.E.D Folders/Books are DUE. We will not send any new books home this year.
Bloomz Codes
K-3 Campus Bloomz- Code: H3WGRU—Will have important school updates.
Mrs.Pearson’s Class Bloomz- Code: EDCU2U—Will only be used to send out sign-ups. If you are not registered on our class Bloomz, you will not have access to classroom sign-ups.
PEAK Bloomz- Code: MDFGAC—Stay up to date with all of the amazing events that PEAK has going on!
Important Information
MORNING SNACK: In order to help students avoid confusing lunch and snack items, please place a morning snack in the small front zipper pocket of your child’s backpack (instead of in his/her lunchbox with lunch items). Please show your child where to find his/her morning snack.
We have also found that reusable water bottles are less likely to spill and much easier for your child to identify. Please send a labeled reusable water bottle with your child each day!
Have students ready in the morning with backpacks and lunchboxes ready to exit the vehicle on the driver's side to the sidewalk.
Uniform Reminders
Student uniforms (other than scooters and dresses) require a solid black belt (or the approved plaid belt for girls). Please remind and practice the following steps with your child:
1. After using the bathroom, TUCK the shirt into your shorts/pants first.
2. Zip and button shorts/pants after tucking the shirt in all the way around.
3. Buckle your belt last. Thank you so much for your support!
