Week of May 18-22


Letterland:

This week students will continue to learn about the “Vowel Stealers” and will be introduced to the following sounds: /er/ (as in ever), /ur/ (as in fur) and /ir/ (as in girl). We will continue to read and answer comprehension questions from our “Scott” reader.


Heart Words:

We have completed heart words for the year! A list of all words will be sent home for your child to continue to review and practice.

Listening & Learning:

We will complete our Science Unit on Pushes and Pulls. Our Push and Pull Assessment will be on Tuesday, May 19th.


Ready Math:

We will complete our unit on Measurement.  Our Measurement Assessment will be on Wednesday, May 20th. 


RED Folders

Your child should read EACH night. When you feel like your child can read the book fluently, please sign the reading log and send the folder and book back to school.


Upcoming Dates and Events:


May 22nd- Last Day of School/Kindergarten End-of-Year Program- 9:00am

Kindergarten End-of-Year Program

Our Kindergarten classes will be having an End-of-Year Program on the morning of Friday, May 22nd. Please plan to arrive in the gym between 8:30am-8:45am. Our program will begin at 9:00am. The program should be finished by approximately 10:30am. This will be a half day of school and students may leave at the end of the program. We hope you will be able to join us!



Important Information


Uniform Reminders

Student uniforms (other than scooters and dresses) require a solid black belt (or the approved plaid belt for girls). Please remind and practice the following steps with your child:

1. After using the bathroom, TUCK the shirt into your shorts/pants first.

2. Zip and button shorts/pants after tucking the shirt in all the way around.
