Tests/Quizzes: Every week, we will have tests on Friday. These tests/quizzes include our spelling tests, sentence dictation, math quiz, and a reading fluency/sound check

Homework:

Reading: Your child must read for 15 minutes each day. Parent signatures required for homework credit.

Math: Your child will complete one math sheet each night.

Spelling: Your child will complete one spelling activity each night.

No homework on Fridays.

All homework is graded and included in your child’s quarterly grades.

Lunch

Your child will need a healthy lunch and drink every day or you may order catered lunch if you choose from TGMH or Jammin J’s (see school website). If your child forgets his/her lunch, we will provide them with a lunch but parents must reimburse the school. Please do not come eat with your child until September 21st.

Class Dojo: Dear Families, Please join our class on ClassDojo! This is a great way for us to stay connected and communicate throughout the school year. Click HERE to join!

Snack

Please send a snack with your child each day. In order to help your child avoid confusing lunch and snack items, please place snack in the small front zipper pocket of your child's backpack (instead of in his/her lunchbox with lunch items).

Please NO liquid in water bottles other than water!

Jackets

It can be fairly chilly in our class at times, your child may want to bring a jacket for inside of our classroom.

Afternoon Dismissal

Car riders will be dismissed from the classroom starting at 2:45pm. Please be patient with us and your child as we teach then this new routine. We promise to do our best to minimize any inconvenience! Please make sure that your child’s car tag is visible.

It is important that students are picked up by 3:30 each day. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up by 3:30 in the afternoon. Staff hours are 7:30-3:30.

It is important to send a written not and/or call the school office before 11:45am if there is a change in the way that your child will be going home. We want to be sure that we send them safely to the correct place

Morning Drop Off

Drop off will begin at 7:15am. School starts at 8:00am. Please have students ready with backpacks on and lunchboxes in hand ready to exit the vehicle on the driver’s side. We ask that parents stay in the car. This keeps the morning drop-off line moving smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation!

Uniforms

Students must wear school approved uniform items each day. We will send sticky note reminders if your child is not following the uniform policy up until September 7th. After this date we will send Uniform Violation forms.

Please remember to label all outerwear with your child’s name.

Hoodies and hooded jackets are not allowed to be worn in the building.

Behavior

In our classroom, we use a clipboard and tally system. Your child will get a tally for inappropriate behavior. If your child gets more than 3 tallies in in a day or more than five in a week you will receive an email or phone call from the teacher. Students can earn prizes from the treasure box as rewards for good behavior. Students will have consequences for inappropriate school behavior such as walking reflection laps before recess and lose of treasure box privileges. Parents will be notified of their child’s recurring inappropriate behavior with an email or phone call.

PEAK

The day your child became a student at PCA you became a member of PEAK which is our school’s parent group. Please step up and support your child’s school by volunteering your time and help
