Hello,
My name is Isabelle Karis-Wiedholz, and I will be joining the PCC teaching team as a Computer Science, STEM, and Robotics Teacher. I attended Central Carolina Community College and Appalachian State University and bring four years of teaching experience from Gaston County Schools, where I taught 9th–12th grade engineering courses. As a fourth-generation educator, teaching is a tradition that runs deep in my family.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy taking walks with my dog, Obi, cuddling with my cat, Millie, attending yoga classes, reading, building LEGO® sets, and traveling with my husband. My adventures have taken me to Greece, Germany, New Zealand, and Japan, and I look forward to exploring even more of the world!
One of my favorite moments in teaching is seeing the light bulb go off in a student's head. There's nothing more rewarding than watching students troubleshoot a robotics challenge, persevere through setbacks, and finally see everything come together.
