KINDERGARTEN NEWS
October 27-31, 2025
In our class:
· Letterland:
This week students will learn the sound and letter shapes for Noisy Nick and Golden Girl. We will continue to review the sounds previously taught, as well as blending sounds together to form words. Students will begin reading from our “Kit” readers.
· Core Knowledge Listening and Learning:
This week we will review and complete our unit on Continents. Our Continent Assessment will be on Thursday, October 30th. Students will be expected to identify each continent on a map, as well as a plant, structure and animal that is important to each continent. Please use the study guide that was sent home to help your child locate each continent.
Continent Projects are due on Friday, October 31st.
· Ready Math:
We will complete Unit 2: Numbers 6-9.
This week students will use drawings and 10-frames to explore the various ways to make 8 and 9. Our Unit 2 Math Test will be on Thursday, October 30th.
❤️Heart Words❤️
Please take a few minutes each evening to review the following four heart words (sight words) with your child: at, on, in, am. These four words will be assessed on Friday, October 31st.

Continent Café
Our Continent Café will be on Monday, November 3rd from 9:00am-11:30am. To make this event a success, we need a few items. Please visit the link below if you are able to donate items for this special event.

“Spook-tacular” Fall Class Party
Our class will be enjoying a special lunch time party and treats on Friday, October 31st. If you signed up to bring an item, please send all items in by Thursday, October 30th. Your child WILL NOT need to bring a lunch on this day. Please send a snack/water bottle as usual.
Reminders
Each student should have a complete change of clothing in his/her backpack. With cooler weather arriving, please check to be sure that your child’s change of clothing is appropriate for the weather.
Please be sure to label your child’s sweater/jacket with their name.
Below are some important reminders:
Hooded clothing cannot be worn inside the building at any time.
Outerwear items (without a hood) must be solid red/black/white OR a combination of those colors and can be worn inside the building if they are embroidered with our school logo. Items that are not embroidered are not approved for daily classroom wear throughout the school day and must be removed when inside the building.
Students cannot wear clogs, mules or boots.
Students must wear socks daily. They can be solid white, solid red, solid black or white with school plaid trim. A small logo is permitted, not to exceed 1".
Solid red, solid white or solid black tights only can be worn under skorts or dresses.
Solid black leggings can be worn under skorts or dresses.
