This week we are working on:
Reading: Reading Mastery-Book A (We will hopefully have online access to student readers soon so parents can see the stories!)
During our lessons, students are working on decoding words, accurately tracking text, fluency, and comprehension. We will have a spelling test on Monday. It will cover the following patterns: "eigh," "ea" (making the short and long e sound), "or," "ay," "ar," "st, "pl," "fl," "sh," and the prefix re-. During our reading lesson for the reminder of the week, we will be working on the following spelling patterns: "-ack," "-uck," "-eck," "-ick," "-ock," the suffix -er, the suffix -ing, the suffix -ed, and the suffix -s. We will also review spelling patterns learned in previous weeks.
Math: Lesson 5-Add Using Arrays
Domain: Early Asian Civilizations (Read alouds for social studies and student readers for science are linked on my webpage...click on "more," "resources," and then click the "CKLA" link)
Writing: Handwriting, Grammar (plural nouns and collective nouns), "The Story Of My Name" assignment
